curling iron

If you like wavy hair but have stayed away from curling irons because you’re not a fan of tight ribbon or spiral curls, try experimenting with a thick curling iron. Those that are about two inches in diameter will create looser waves than the mid-size and smaller ones that produce more defined curls. You can curl your tresses safely and in considerably less time compared to the process of using curlers as long as you take precautions when using your thick curling iron.

Regardless of the type of curling iron you use, do not risk the health of your hair. Make sure to prepare your hair with a setting lotion or heat-protective serum before using any curling, crimping or flat iron. Take note of the condition of your hair before subjecting it to heat styling. If your hair is color-treated or permed, think twice about using thermal tools or at least take care not to use them so frequently. If there’s a need to use a curling iron on a daily basis, invest in a ceramic or tourmaline one. It may be quite pricey but it will keep your hair more attractive and healthier.
