I have two girls. When they were young we used to have loads of hair barrettes scattered around the house all the time. Some got broken; others were swept away while still others were chewed on by the family dog. And yet, I still have a few pieces stored in plastic boxes. Sometimes I hate myself for being such a pack rat.

But hair barrettes are such pretty things. Not only are they great for keeping hair off the face. They add style and color to the hair. There are barrettes that hold a bunch of hair with a clip. There are those with teeth that can hold big bunches of hair off the back of the neck like claws. Whatever way they grasp hair they always come in stylish designs.
