What is it with us ladies? If we have curly hair we want to straighten it out. We want it smooth and sleek. If we have straight, silky long tresses, we think of having them curled. It is a good thing that we don’t go into these major changes on impulse. It goes through a lot of consulting with friends, several trips to the salon to finally give in.
Fortunate for us, there are tools that will make the decision easier. Ceramic curling irons are here to provide temporary curls in our straight tresses. By going through this alternative process, we can have a try out period. Are we ready to make curly hair our permanent do? If so, go ahead and make an appointment with your hairdresser.

Clippers and trimmers are just a few of the gadgets that you will see in a barber’s salon. There will also be towels, neck strips and shaving supplies. Salons for ladies will be packed with even more supplies. There will be special styling chairs and a manicure table. There will also be endless supply of brushes, hair colors and other hair treatments.
Clippers are to barbers as knives are to chefs. Electric clippers utilize different sized detachable blades or plastic guard attachments to cut hair at a uniform length. They can also be used with special tapering attachments or combs for blending. Three very common clipper manufacturers are Andis, Oster and Wahl. Andis clippers come with removable blades of different lengths. They have a numbering system to identify the blades to be used for various hair lengths.

As a freelance make up artist I usually do make up for brides and women who want to be made up for a party. The make up that I do is usually elegant or natural. Once in a while I get to be creative in my make up when my client attends a Halloween party. Halloween make up is so much fun because I get to work with wigs as well. I have in fact started my own collection of cheap lace wigs.
Not many people know that most wigs have lace underneath. The lace is under the wig and covers your scalp. Cheap lace wigs can be bought online and in stores. Cheap lace wigs usually use artificial hair. Wigs made of human hair are generally more expensive.

Flat irons for the hair are used for straightening. They work by breaking down the hair’s hydrogen bonds that cause the hair to bend and become curly. Once the bonds are broken, the hair cannot hold its original form. However, they can re-form when exposed to moisture. When this happens they have to be run through a straightening iron again to get the desired effect.
The plate of flat irons has a lot to do with avoiding damage to the hair. The ceramic heating elements assure of constant heat and fast heat up time. You will find several brands in the market with basic features. If you are a frequent traveler, make sure that you get dual voltage flat irons. You are assured that you can plug it into an outlet wherever you are in the world.

Precision cutting is the name of the game for hair stylist and barbers. One of the worst things to have is a bad haircut. If you are a hairstylist/barber and give someone a bad haircut not only will you lose that customer you’ll also lose all succeeding customers that that person will talk to. Word gets around fast when you give a bad haircut. To avoid this use sharpen scissors.
Sharpen scissors are a wonderful tool. It will make cutting/styling easy. It will allow you to cater to more customers because you won’t get hand weary. I for one do my own sharpening. I use a sharpening stone which I got off the net. I even sharpen brand new scissors even before I use them.

Blow drying one’s hair is a part of a many people’s routine or daily regimen. But in a world where we are always pressed for time, where we are expected to do a lot of things and finish on time, we are forced to make shortcuts. Blow drying your hair with standard dryers may take a while and can damage your hair. It’s a good thing there are alternatives. Most hairstylists recommend using professional dryers to keep your hair damage-free.
Professional hair dryers, such as Solano hair dryers, are designed to last longer than most standard models. Home hair dryers have a tendency to overheat quickly. Professional dryers can use half the heat used by standard dryers, which will not damage your hair that much. When using these dryers, you are getting a great combination of function and protection. Investing a quality professional dryer is certainly a recommended choice.

I usually go across the street to my favorite barber to have my hair cut. It took me a while to find the perfect barber. I am very particular with my hair, and I’ve had my share of hair disasters that I do not want to remember. But when I first went to this particular barber, I knew that I would become a loyal customer especially after I talked to the old barber who cut my hair. He was so nice and his stories were a bit outlandish but funny.
One time he asked for my help in looking for a place that offers barber scissors sharpening. I had no idea where to look, but I got curious as to why he was asking. He said he had to have his favorite scissors sharpened again, after he discovered that it had become dull yesterday when he used it on a customer. Since he had been so nice to me, I offered to accompany him when he went around town to look for one. After finding one and having his scissors sharpened, he thanked me by giving me a freebie.
